SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for DIFFUSION CELL APPARATUS

SOP FOR DIFFUSION CELL APPARATUS

  1. Ensure the working area is neat and clean.
  2. Place the Diffusion cell Apparatus on the level surface.
  3. Connect the required power supply to the instrument.
  4. Switch on the main power switch on the instrument.
  5. Switch on the heater switch.
  6. LED displays the temperature of the water jacket. Let the temperature rise to the required temperature e.g., body temperature.
  7. France diffusion cell:
  8. Fill the reservoir compartment with the dissolution media to the top.
  9. Place the stirrer inside the reservoir compartment.
  10. Place the Activated Receptor Membrane in between the receiver compartment and donor compartment of the diffusion cell.
  11. Place the upper compartment on the membrane and fix them using a clamp.
  12. Fix the diffusion cell inside the water jacket of the diffusion cell apparatus.
  13. Switch on the stirrer. Adjust the RPM using the Stirrer/RPM Control Knob.
  14. Place the formulation on the membrane gently.
  15. The sample can be withdrawn from the reservoir from the side tube of the diffusion cell for analysis at regular intervals. And the same quantity of fresh dissolution media is added to the reservoir compartment.
  16. After completion switch off the stirrer and take out the diffusion cell from the water jacket.
  17. Switch off the heater.
  18. Switch off the main switch.
  19. Clean the apparatus as per laboratory procedure.
Caution:
  • Use a properly grounded electrical outlet with the proper voltage and current handling capacity as specified on the nameplate
  • Disconnect from the power supply before servicing or cleaning.
  • Do not use in the presence of flammable or combustible materials; fire or explosion may result. This device contains components that may ignite such materials.
