SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for Double Cone Blender

 S.O.P of Double Cone Blender

  1. Ensure that the blender is mounted on a solid footing or on the stable platform base foot.
  2. Check and make sure that Double cone blender has been cleaned properly and sterilized.
  3. Adjust the angle of the blender with the help of a moving wheel to a required position for convenience in loading the materials.
  4. Connect the appropriate power (either 110 or 220 V/1 Ph) to the variable speed control as indicated in the enclosed operating and installation manual of the double code blender.
  5. To load the blender, rotate the cone until the load port cover is on top. The load port cover is held in place by a bar/hand clamp mechanism. To remove the load cover, unscrew the hand wheel, slide the retainer bar out and lift the cover off.
  6. Load the materials from the container to the blender as per the sequence specified in the individual Batch Manufacture Record (BMR).
  7. Re-place the cover(lid), bar and hand clamp and tighten securely.
  8. Put the safety pin on the lid and fit it properly within its groove. Lock the blender lid by moving the wheel in clockwise direction.
  9. Check the discharge valve (if any) to ensure that it is securely in the closed position.
  10. Before starting the operation, ensure that the lid and the safety pin lock has been assembled properly.
  11. Put the safety guard before commencement of the operation. Cover the area below the mixer with polybags.
  12. To blend, simply turn the variable speed control to the ON position, and select a speed, around 20 RPM's.
  13. Allow the blender to rotate for a period of time, ranging from 10-20 minutes, depending upon the material and blending to be achieved or as per the time specified in the individual BMR. Over blending cannot occur in a cone blender!
  14. To unload the material, Ensure that the equipment is switch OFF.
  15. Remove the poly bag and safety guard.
  16. Adjust the position of the blender at the required angle for convenience in unloading the materials.
  17. Unlock the safety pin and remove the lid from the blender.
  18. Unload the blended materials.
  19. Remove the Status label. Place the “To be Cleaned” status label over the equipment.

Caution:

  • Use latex gloves elbow size during loading and unloading of materials.
  • Before loading of the materials, ensure that the inner and outer surface of the drum blender is cleaned & sterilized as per the standard procedure respectively.
  • Use appropriate power supply for operating the blender.
  • Do not blend any material corrosive to blender inner walls.
